What is a Tea Ceremony
A tea ceremony is a space to share community and connection.
The silence allows us to turn inward, and reflect with natural curiosity. This practice can be a lifetime practice, a way of life for those who feel called to such.
However, the practice is accessible to all experienced levels, and is often incredibly profound for the first time participant . And it could be a casual space to create a time to share and community with others, a tea ceremony always offers curiosity and silence. Remove it is simply hot water, and tea leaves. During our bowl, tea ceremony, tea is brewed using traditional methods with each rhythmic round, the ceremony last 45 to 60 minutes.
There are a few tea etiquette, worth sharing to enhance the overall experience.
Drink as many or a few bowls of tea that feels right for you. There’s no rush… Take your time. If you miss a round, it is OK.
Hold the bowl with both hands. The stronger hand is often underneath, and the other hand is on the side, leading to be mindful balance bowl of tea.
There is not a right or wrong way to approach a sit with Tea in ceremony that being said, it is important to respect those around you, and not hinder their experience calm.
The shared ceremony can be a beautiful connection with yourself and others.
If late, use judgment to feel if it is still suitable to enter the space. If so, do it mindfully it with respect.
