BYRON’S TEA JOURNEY

Nepal 1999

My journey with tea began when I first traveled to Nepal in 1999. It was when I first noticed and became passionate about this amazing leaf as it nourished my journey of trekking through the Himalayan mountains.

My exploration of the tea leaf and all of its beauty and many personalities has continued for the past 20 years..

I have learned so much from all of tea's beautiful qualities. Along this journey, there were always currents of spirituality and deep peace that I noticed with every cup.

The leaf brought me reflection, deep peace and stillness.

I realized along the path I was discovering the spiritual and medicinal part of Camillia Sinesis. This was the CHA DAO, The Way of Tea.

Through ceremony and my own exploration of this spiritual and medicinal path, I understood that tea was one of my teachers in life, if only I would find the stillness to listen. Cultivating this path with tea, my life changed and I began to understand all the teachings that tea was offering to me in subtle ways.

This art and ritual of the tea ceremony as my own practice showed me that I must show up and offer the beauty of this natural plant medicine to others so they can create their own personal journey.

My life as an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon has been a wonderful one, yet the addition of CHA DAO to this life path has brought an abundance of balance and awareness to the very essence of what it means to be human in all of its forms, including the way I interact with my patients, friends and all those who are present in my life.

I recently discovered vibrational sound and yoga, both of which compliment my passion of tea in so many ways.

The alchemy of sound allows a deep reflection to flow through in higher vibration.

Yoga presents awareness to the now and to the authentic alignment of life with purpose.

I allow the union of both of these beautiful teachings with my ceremony of tea.

I am nothing short of grateful for all this life offers and all the incredible human beings who cross my path along this amazing journey.

Love to all,

B.
